Shambala Retreat Center consists of two large bedrooms, each with an attached bathroom, as well as a large and comfortable king-sized bed draped with a mosquito net. The rooms are separated by a large central living area, which includes the kitchen, dining area, and our relaxation area, provided with yoga mats, meditation pillows, and acupressure mats. The furnished balcony offers an ideal space to relax outside in our hammocks, to discover the small wonders of nature or relish the grounding atmosphere.
The Location
Shambala Retreat offers a panoramic and exceptional view of the lush greenery of the highlands of Sri Lanka. Should you wish to get even closer to nature, you can explore our garden with numerous banana trees and observe the small monkeys going about their daily activities.
The journey to Shambala Retreat can be perfectly combined with the adventurous and beautiful train ride from Colombo to Ella. Although this may take some time, you will not regret it, as you will be rewarded with stunning nature and a journey through Sri Lanka’s tea plantations, numerous small villages and a view of idyllic waterfalls. Once here, a variety of attractions await you, such as: the Nine Arch Bridge, Little Adams Peak, Ravana Waterfall, tea factories/plantations, Ella Rock, Ravanna Cave and Temple and much more
